When you have created your post or page and want to get as many readers as possible, you need to share your content with your social networks. Many WordPress website owners still do this the old fashioned way by adding the links manually in the several different social networks, something pages like Facebook actually prefer. There are a little more advanced users who will use services like Hootsuite or even create IFTTTrecipes to get the word out.

For those of you who like to use a plugin to auto-post your content to the connected social networks, you are in luck. There are some very useful and easy free and premiumplugins you can use to spread the word.

Mind you though, most plugins let you share your content with the popular social networks Facebook and Twitter but not all of them allow you to share with Google+. Reason for this is Google has not yet released third party API to everyone, just WordPress.com and Buffer (and Hootsuite) can make use of the Google+ share API.

    Jetpack Publicize module

Many of the WordPress website owners already have the powerful Jetpack plugin installed and configured with the modules they like. But did you know with the Publicize module you can auto-post your content directly to Twitter, facebook, LinkedIn, Tumblr and even Google+? The best part is, the Publicize module does this in the most easy way possible.

You can connect your site with one of the mentioned social networks by following 3 easy steps: Go to Settings and Sharing in your dashboard, click on Connect next to the social network you want to connect to and Log in to that social network site and authorize the connection and choose where you want to send new content to.

Once installed and approved you will see a Publicize section in the Publish box on your post writing screen. You will see the connected social networks here and you can edit this list if you want to exclude a particular social network.

The great thing is, Publicize allows auto-posting to Google+. It is one of the few services which allows posting to profiles and pages without a hassle. Definitely worth a try if you do not want difficult setups. Only downfall is the fact that posts are posted on social media like they were posted by and links to WordPress.com.

    NextScripts: Social Networks Auto-Poster (SNAP)

The NextScripts Social Networks Auto-Poster plugin is by far the most extensive and perhaps the best auto-poster plugin available at this time. With NexScipts you can auto-share your content with over 18 social networks like Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Delicious, LinkedIn, Tumblr and WordPress.com. Furthermore you can auto-post to Google+, Pinterest, Reddit, Flipboard etc. by using the third party API library which comes included in the SNAP Pro version of this plugin.

Setting up the various social networks will take you some time and involves creating applications in Twitter and facebook but once done you can enjoy the power of SNAP (haha, remember that song). The plugin will generate 100% white label posts which makes the content look like you posted it directly on the social networks. You also have the possibility to import the Facebook comments as WordPress comments or auto-import replies and mentions from Twitter as WordPress comments. Check all the details and features on the plugin page.
